A £40 million program is being launched titled the "London Prepares" series and will be used to test out the equipment and venue as well as familiarize the staff with their jobs and responsibilities for the ceremony.
This opportunity also gives the public a chance to see some of the games and events in advanced and get a feel for what it will be like next year.
Over the next 12 months, the various components of the Olympic games will be tested and tweaked to perfection. Tickets will be on sale to witness four events this summer including BMX, basketball, beach volley ball and mountain biking.
Their goal isn't to have everything run smoothly, but to run into mistakes and fix them so they don't happen again.
This will ensure that the 2012 Summer Olympics in London will no doubt be a success.
